Most Memorable Moments in Flag Football: As the
President/Commissioner of the
NOVA Youth Flag Football League
- Handing out a Championship trophy in the Fall of ‘08 to a young 9
years-old child that had autism- whose parents thought he would never get a
chance to play sports because many other recreational sports would not allow
their son to play. We had a great coach that agreed to work with the child. It
was very emotional during the Championship Trophy Ceremony as his parents were
crying as he came up to get his award. His team won the league Super Bowl that
Fall Season!
The feeling of flag football touching the life of a young child &
his parents, is such a God given Blessing brought about by Flag Football. True
life lessons are learned through playing sports at all ages (whether youth or
adult)…The sport of Flag Football & all the League Directors, behind the
scene administrators, referees, coaches, players, family & fans all play
apart of a God given gift we have in this great sport!
